Next-generation update for Fallout 4 now being deployed

The rollout of the next-gen update for Fallout 4 has commenced.

This highly anticipated update is now available for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, as well as for the PC version of Bethesda's post-apocalyptic open-world RPG.

On PS5, the newly native version of Fallout 4 (1.000.001) reportedly requires 56.503 GB, according to early reports.

Bethesda announced via Twitter that access to both Creation Club and/or the Mods Menu will be temporarily unavailable as they implement the update. At the time of this article's publication, these features were still unavailable.

The next-gen update introduces native applications for the consoles, Performance mode, and Quality mode settings, along with stability improvements and fixes. This means the game will now be playable at up to 60 frames per second with increased resolution.

Additionally, Fallout 4 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One receives a free update with stability improvements and fixes for login and quests. Furthermore, a free update for the PC version of Fallout 4 adds widescreen and ultra-widescreen support, as well as fixes to Creation Kit and various quest updates.

Players with PC versions of Fallout 4 on Steam, the Microsoft Store, and GOG will receive stability, mod, and bug fixes. Furthermore, Fallout 4 will now be available on the Epic Games Store and has been verified for the Steam Deck.

The update also includes new Creation Club content available for all players, such as the Enclave Remnants, an Armor and Weapon bundle, and a Halloween Workshop, alongside various changes and bug fixes.

Overall, this next-gen update arrives as Fallout 4 continues to be a highly played game on Steam, with its popularity sustained by a plethora of mods. The timing of the update coincides with the recent release of the first season of the Fallout TV show.
