LeBron James voices frustration with NBA's replay center for calls following Lakers' buzzer-beating loss in Denver

LeBron James was seething with frustration as the Los Angeles Lakers let a prime opportunity slip through their fingers.

His ire wasn't solely directed at squandering a 20-point lead, nor was it solely aimed at his own missed late-game shot that could have sealed the win. It was Jamal Murray's buzzer-beating shot that handed the Denver Nuggets a 101-99 victory in Game 2 of their first-round series on Monday night.

Yet, James' anger wasn't confined to the court; it stretched all the way to the NBA's replay center in Secaucus, New Jersey. His fury stemmed from a second-half foul call reversal involving Michael Porter Jr., with the league ruling that Porter had made minimal contact with D'Angelo Russell.

“I don’t understand what’s going on in the replay center, to be honest,” James vented, as his team heads back to Los Angeles trailing 2-0 in the series. “D-Lo clearly gets hit in the face on the drive. What the (expletive) do we have a replay center ... it doesn’t make sense. It makes no sense. It bothers me.”

In his postgame interview, James wasn't as verbose as usual, his disappointment evident as the Lakers witnessed Murray and the Nuggets mount an impressive comeback from a 20-point deficit.

With roughly 16 seconds remaining, James had an open look for a crucial 3-pointer.

“Rimmed out,” sighed James, who ended the game with 26 points and 12 assists.
